Unleash your inner artist and create your next mosaic masterpiece!

This is a "open studio" concept workshop. The mosaic project that you create will be of your choosing.

In this Mosaic Lab attendees will learn the basics of mosaic art and how to create their own mosaic art using mosaic tiles, tile nippers, Wellbond, and a trivet, frame, or other base. This is an introductory workshop so you don’t need any previous mosaic experience to participate. In this open studio workshop attendees can bring in mosaic pieces that they wish to finish or start a completely new piece. Each Mosaic artwork will be handcrafted by the attendee with the help and guidance from mosaic instructor, Lisa Horowitz. With hands-on help you'll sketch out a design, learn basic glass-cutting and puzzling techniques, and get to work on your personal mosaic. Attendees will choose their tiles from Arts on the Block tile library that consists of almost every color tile under the sun. We will have trivets, frames, and other bases you can use for your mosaic for purchase at the workshop.

Attendees will be given a To-Go grout goodie bag that will include everything they need to grout their mosaic jewelry at home. It is important to note that you want to allow the adhesive 24 hours to cure before grouting so attendees should wait until the next day to grout their projects. Grouting your mosaic will add more color to your piece and can emphasize the beauty of your mosaic by choosing a complementary grout color. Light snacks and refreshments will be served to fuel your creativity!

The registration fee for this workshop is $80 and admits one attendee.
