Join me in supporting young artists this Giving Tuesday

Arts on the Block connects creative young people with opportunities to design and create works of public art, allowing them to get training and pay as professional artists all while beautifying their communities.

I truly believe in Arts on the Block for so many reasons!

1. The organization builds a community and space for young people to safely explore their creativity. The young people who benefit from AOB's programming, most of whom are people of color and many of whom are queer or trans, are given the agency to create a space for themselves and for one another to flourish.
2. The people who lead Arts on the Block genuinely love and prioritize the needs of young creatives. I've worked with so many organizations where big egos get in the way of the work. I know that the amazing people leading the organization are in it for the right reasons.
3. Arts on the Block provides holistic support to young creatives. The programming doesn't leave kids high and dry after a summer. In addition to job training and programming for school-age creatives, AOB provides mentorship and hires alums at various capacities, providing pathways and opportunities to creative careers through their young adulthood.

• $10.00 will buy 1 pair of safety goggles for tile cutting.
• $20.00 provides a safety apron for 1 Apprentice.
• $40.00 furnishes 1 Art + STEM Kit for a YAM'mer.
• $50.00 supplies 2 heavy duty tile nippers for mosaics making.
• $60.00 affords digital design software for youth learnings.
• $80.00 pays for mentoring materials for 1 mentor and mentee pair for an entire year.
• $100.00 allows 10 Apprentices to take a Teaching Artist-led field trip via metro to experience the world famous exhibitions that DC has to offer.
